The 21st century has witnessed the emergence and re-emergence of viral agents namely, Dengue, Chikungunya, Swine flu, Nipah, CCHF, KFD and SARS-CoV-2. The recent COVID pandemic has also accentuated the global vulnerability of such agents, which intrigued the scientific community for gearing up the resources for an effective combat against these threats. This pandemic has led to increased interest of global scientific community to the world of viruses.

It is a great pleasure for us in extending a warm and cordial invitation on behalf of the Organizing Committee, to the eminent as well as budding Virologists in the country and abroad to attend “VIROCON 2025: Changing Landscape in Human, Animal and Plant Viruses: Bridging Basics Science, Innovations and Public Health”. This important conference is being organized by ICMR- National Institute of Virology, Pune, India in association with Indian Virological Society (IVS) during 08-10 December, 2025.

ICMR-NIV, a prominent laboratory of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has been working relentlessly since past several decades in empowering the nation in the realm of Virology Research. IVS is a unique scientific society that foster research and development in all fields of Virology including Medical, Veterinary, Plant and Aquatic Virology. IVS is a member of International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) and maintains close partnership with World Society for Virology (WSV) to address issues related to trans-boundary viral infections.

We are confident that the conference will provide an excellent platform to the participants for productive scientific deliberations, fruitful interactions and collaboration for solutions to contain the viral epidemics that threatening human, animal, plant, aquatic and environmental health.
